Anche se negli Stati Uniti i premi più prestigiosi della musica sono tre: Grammy Awards, American Music Awards e Billboard Awards, in aggiunta ad essi c’è un’altra statuetta molto ambita, però riservata solo agli artisti del mondo black: i BET Awards.
Si tratta della 20esima edizione dei Black Entertainment Television Awards e si è svolta in virtuale a causa del Covid-19.
Le nominations sono state svelate il 15 Giugno e Drake è stato l’artista a riceverne di più con 6.

Il vincitore della serata è stato Roddy Ricch, che ha portato a casa i premi per Album of the Year e per Best New Artist.
